Spend One Week To Give a Family a Home For a Lifetime.
This mission trip is designed to assist those who live in significant poverty in Acuña, Mexico
by providing a well built home/shelter to protect them from the elements.
One of the goals is "to give people a protective home - one family at a time and
tangibly demonstrate the love of Christ."
Eligibility is for anyone who is 10 years or older.
Need to be in reasonably good health.
Anyone with a heart that is willing to help others.
There is no construction skill requirements. There is on the job training for those who have never done construction work before.
What are individual requirements?

- If you have construction experience, it is critical that you let us know
- Must have a Passport
- Must attend one orientation meeting and 3 team training meetings
- All adults must be willing to lead or assist in a specific responsibility
for the trip (i.e., meal planning, food preparations, loading vans,
overseeing tools, etc.)
- Ability to get along well with others in cramped living conditions and
long work hours with out all the comforts we are accustomed to (it
only lasts a week – so most people can meet this expectation)
- Complete an application and have it approved (based on the feedback
from 2 references that you give)
What are the costs involved?
One week of your time (most trips leave on Saturday and return on
Friday – team members cannot join team late or leave early).
- Passports – each individual is responsible for acquiring these and
paying for these as they are personal property
- Workers (15 and up) Maximum of $650 per person;
Children (10-14) Maximum of $300 per person
The funds involved go to pay for food, lodging, transportation, casas
support, and the materials used to build the house
- Trip participants are responsible for the raising of their own funds for
the trip and may choose any of the following options
donate the total yourselves
- participate in deputation – raising support,
or a combination of the two (donating and deputation).
These options and details will be discussed during the training
meetings.
- Sample deputation letters and the process will be explained
thoroughly during the first training meeting.
- Personal supplies (clothing, water thermos, toiletries, etc) - a list is
provided during the team training process
- Please note that air mattresses, laundered sleeping bags, and all tools
are provided by the Ministry – you do not need to have these or
bring these.
